Hi Bertie,
Our class has sent letters to Miss Suter\\\'s 3S. They should have arrived by now and we hope the 3S children like them. It is just two days until we start our holidays. Our teacher, Mr Ralston, is going skiing again and we hope he doesn\\\'t break his leg like he did two years ago! How is Glenn?

| Welcome Back |
| Date 21 - 12 - 2007 |
| Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to you all! We're back ! Safe and sound and no broken bones from our time skiing on the slopes in France. We'd like to say a great big 'Thank you' to Fletcher and his family for taking us with them - we had a marvellous time and so did they. Take a look at the photos and you'll see what I mean.
I'm sorry to say that I won't be going on the World Cruise with Roy as I wasn't ready in time and got left behind! But never mind as it means I'll be available to go away with one of you during the Half Term holiday - wonderful!
Glenn will need to be going back to Australia very soon, in fact, any day now as the children at his school will be going back to school after their long summer holiday at the end of this month and they'll be missing him greatly if he's still in Marchwood! Don't worry - we'll say 'Goodbye' to him in assembly before he goes.
Must go now; things to do, places to go!
Bye for now,
Love Bertie

| Happy Christmas! |
| Date 18 - 12 - 2007 |
| Just a quick message to you all before Glenn, Emmanuel and I go off on our Christmas Holiday. In case you didn't know, we are all going to France, skiing, with Fletcher (3B) and his family. We are really looking forward to it.
Amazing. But it does mean that we will be very quiet over Christmas and New Year as I probably won't be able to write anything on my Blog.....so....I will now wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We will all be back at the very start of term but guess what? Mr Long, our Caretaker who retired on Wednesday, said that he would take me with him on his 80 day Round the World cruise which starts on January 7th! Unfortunately, Glenn will have to go back to Australia but I will be off on another adventure!
I'm such a lucky Bertie! Anyway, see you all in 2008! Bye for now.
Lots of love,
Bertie |

| The Year 4 Violin and Cello Concert |
| Date 13 - 12 - 2007 |
Wow! and Wow! again.
Well done to all of you. As you know, Glenn and I were sat to the side (Under the Housepoint Cup) during the concert and we both thought it was fantastic. You all played and sang so well. We were both very, very proud of you as were your teachers, your families and Mr. Bassett. We hope that some of you will now want to continue to learn to play those instruments at some time in the future.
The Carol Concert was also very good tonight, so I hear. The Infant children sang and read really well and our Junior children who did the readings and the little play were all marvellous. Well done to you all.
I'm off to bed now as Glenn and I have got a very early start as we're going to Lapland tomorrow!!! Glenn is still wide awake -well, he is Australian and jet-lagged and still thinks he's on Australian time. For him it's already Thursday morning and yet for me it's 9.50pm on Wednesday evening! How does that work? I heard Mr. Bassett explain it in assembly last Monday but I'm still not sure that I understand all about those lines of longitude. Do you? Ask your parents to explain it to you again.
Must go now; I've got to get some sleep.
Nite nite MJS
Love from Bertie

| Bertie's Blog |
| Date 12 - 12 - 2007 |
| Hello everyone.
Welcome to my new Blog. I'll keep it up to date as much as I can but as you know, Glenn and I are off to Lapland on Thursday so I might not be able to write for a couple of days as my hands will be too cold to type!
I really don't think Mr.Bassett will ever tell which teacher gave Glenn the best kiss; he told me, of course, but I won't tell either!
Have a good time at school whilst I'm away and I hope the Carol Concert at St.John's Church at 6pm on Wednesday evening goes well. I'm sorry I won't be there.
See you all when I get back.

Click on the placenames above on the globe to visit Bertie's and Glenn's home town maps with Google Maps (pop-up window) |
Question: Chloe M: Hi Bertie hope you are haveing fun with Glenn I relly hope you have fun at lapland with Charlotte and Emma
Reply: In answer to that question, I think we will get cold in Lapland but we are very pleased that Emma and Charlotte's grandmother knitted us such nice scarves. They'll help to keep us warm!
By the way, if you are not sure where Lapland is, have a look on the World Map on Bertie's Board or on a globe in school (I think Mr. Bassett had one in the hall the other day - ask him where it is).
Bye for now.
Love, Bertie
